LECTURE: Making the Magna Carta We Want: The Unintended Meanings of an Icon, An evening lecture by Neil MacGregor, Director of the British Museum. Chaired by the Very Reverend June Osborne, Dean of Salisbury. Salisbury Cathedral, 6 March 2015.

Neil MacGregor is one of the world’s most eminent art historians, whose ability to tell the stories of objects has helped spark a nationwide interest in museums and collections. He is best known for his radio programme and book, The History of the World in 100 Objects, and has been described as “The object that is currently the British Museum’s most valuable.”

The lecture will start at 19:30 doors open at 18:30. There are over 600 seats available in the main nave and aisles – there is no need to reserve your seats, they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Entry via the North Porch.
